implant

Teeth implant is the process of placing a substitute inside the jaw bone to replace one tooth or a group of teeth by using it as a basis for installing one crown, a bridge, or a denture.

In the last decade implant developed at high speed due to the advancement of technology, the increasing number of people resorting to transplant and advanced experience in this field.

The healing of gum and bone around the prosthesis depends greatly on the form of the implant, the substance used, and the surgical method. And the success of teeth transplant depends on several factors. Some relate to the prosthesis itself, some relate to the patient, and some depend on the dentist.

The first group of factors:

  • The substance of the implant: stainless steel, gold, lead, and finally the Titanium which is number one among all these substances. It is considered an inactive substance that does not interact with the body and does not cause side effects. We have been relying on it completely in all our implant treatments.

  • The outer surface of the implant also plays a significant role in its success. There is the cylindrical, spiral and malleable type.

  • The substance enveloping the surface of the prosthesis. Sometimes it is possible to add substances on the surface of titanium in order to speed up the process of the formation of bone around the implant, such as calcium phosphate.

  • The length and width of the implant depend on the location of the transplant, the quantity and thickness of the bone available.

The factors relating to the patient are many, such as:

The location:
The form of the jaw, the number of missing teeth, thickness of the jaw bone, proximity of the implant to the nasal sinus in the upper jaw or the feeding nerve of the lower jaw, the existence of local illnesses, inflammation of the gum and bone.

Preparedness:
Or what relates to physical health, such as illnesses that hinder bone formation or affect gum healing.
Diabetes is considered one of the main causes for the failure of teeth transplant, in addition to some bone illnesses, rickets, shortage of vitamins, old age and cancer.

Alcohol and smoking are considered basic causes for the failure of implant, as they negatively affect the process of tissue healing around the implant.

The dentist plays an important and basic role in the process and success of implant, the proper equipment, good sterilization, preparing the patient before the operation, good experience and specialization in the field. All these matters are the dentist’s responsibility, and with the previous factors these conditions must be met in order to achieve a result that is satisfactory to all parties.

Advantages of implant:

  • It functions exactly like the natural tooth (Function and appearance).

  • It restores full confidence to people who had lost their teeth.

  • The patient can chew with the same power of natural teeth.

  • It permits replacing moveable dentures with fixed bridges.

How is the transplant done?

The implant is fixed in place in several stages, In the first stage the tooth root of Titanium is placed in the bone section of the mouth. We wait for the bone to heal and makes what called osteointegration around the prosthesis so that both unite and become one. This stage requires a waiting period of 4 – 6 months. Human body considers Titanium as though it were the tooth root and accepts it well without sensitization. This is because Titanium is an inactive element, After the waiting period and the proper osteointegration of the bone around the prosthesis, we fix another piece over the implant (ABuTMENT) which will be the support that will carry the denture (crown or bridge or a complete denture).

We guarantee a very accurate and wonderful result of implant.
